Pilots
WELCOME
WELCOME TO SION AIRPORT IN THE HEART OF THE ALPS
The airport is currently working on the Global Positioning System (GPS) approach that is considered by many to be the greatest advance in aviation and will allow you to come into Sion with a standard glide slope. It should be in service in the year 2015.
WHAT THE PILOTS NEED
You may come in using IFR or VFR procedures.
Please see the link for both procedures:
IFR /
VFR
Qualifications
A QUALIFICATION
If you are coming in IFR, you will need to have the A qualification, which is very easy to get online with theoretical self-instruction at the following link : www.sion-qualification.ch
B QUALIFICATION
The B qualification will allow you to come in IFR by night or lower than the A qualification MINIMA. This qualification must be done with our instructor pilot. We can organise it for you upon request.
